Botanical Tower - King Salman Park

A competition for a novel production and education facility in the newly developed King Salman Park in Riyadh, this project challenges what it means to create a living building while also creating a space to educate the public on the potentials of vertical farming technologies in a region looking to alleviate it’s reliance on imported produce. Working with a team of vertical farming experts, structural consultants, landscape designers, and other designers, this project manifested as a 70m tall CLT structure with regional plant species enveloping the substructure to create a dynamic structure that brings the surrounding landscape into the sky to create a focal point in park where visitors can learn and experience state of the art vertical farm production facilities, take in views of the surrounding park, and dine at the rooftop restaurant fully catered by the facilities below.
